Kent Russell is one of the most influential members of the R community who has authored numerous R packages likning powerful JavaScript frameworks and extensions to R. In 2015, Kent authored an amazing series of posts on his blog Building Widgets where he wrote R packages for a different JavaScript widget every week, and has been a key thought leader and developer in the spaces of JavaScript and Shiny ever since.
